Celebrations

This week we would like to take a moment to celebrate our sports teams who competed in various matches this week. In spite of the rain, they played skillfully, as a team, and with Nighthawk pride. Our Girls Rugby team made it to the semifinals and our Boys Rugby Team won their divisional game against Joanne Cardinal Schubert. On Tuesday, both our Girls Field Hockey team and Boys Soccer team finished second in their division after nail biting games that were decided on penalties. Thank you to all the parents, players, trainers, and coaches who made the spring sports season a success. All of this year's athletes and trainers will be celebrated at our Athletic Banquet this evening. Our Dance team also put together a wonderful showcase of their work last night with over 25 pieces being performed in a variety of styles. National Indigenous History Month

National Indigenous History Month (NIHM) is a month-long celebration held each June honouring the richness of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. It recognizes the contributions, histories, and enduring strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, while celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of Indigenous cultures across the country.  

Global Languages June Celebrations 

June 21 — Fête de la Musique 

Every summer solstice on June 21, France opens its streets to music of all genres, free and public, all day and into the night. From chanson française to Congolese rumba to Maghrebi raï, the Francophone musical world is vast and alive. Today we celebrate it. 

June 24 — Fête nationale du Québec 

Saint-Jean-Baptiste is Québec's national holiday in celebration of Francophone culture, identity, and community in North America. French is not just a European language: it is one of Canada's founding languages and a living part of our national fabric.
