2025-26 Yearbooks on Sale! 

Yearbooks can be purchased through Josten's for this school year! There is a special back-to-school deal where they can be purchased for $42 until October 24. They will still be available for purchases until February, but the cost will go up! Get yours today to ensure you get a copy at the end of the year!

Schulich Ignite Workshops 

For over seven years, Schulich Ignite has been providing fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly programming workshops, both online and in person at the University of Calgary. This semester, we are excited to launch our Beginner and Advanced Python workshops starting October 11. 

A bit about us: 
Schulich Ignite’s mission is to spark a passion for coding in youth by creating an engaging, supportive environment. Our workshops give students the chance to: 

• Learn valuable programming skills from university mentors 
• Explore real-world applications of coding 
• Build connections with peers and industry professionals 
• Gain insight into how programming can enhance their future studies and careers

Complete Your Demographic Verification Forms 

Thank you to all families who have already completed their Demographic Verification Forms (DVFs) in SchoolEngage through MyCBE! Your attention to this important task helps us keep our records accurate and up to date. 

If you have not yet completed your teen’s form, please do so as soon as possible. These forms are required each year and are essential for compliance with Alberta Education. 

Updating this information is very important because it: 

• Ensures we have the most accurate contact information in case of emergencies, 
• Confirms student demographics for official school records and reporting, 
• Helps us plan supports, programming, and resources for students, and 
• Guarantees that families receive timely communication about school events and updates. 

Please take a few minutes to log into PowerSchool and complete your teen’s form today. Completing this promptly ensures your teen’s information is accurate and that our school remains in compliance.

Community Events/ Information 

Municipal Election Oct. 20 

The municipal election period began Sept. 23. You are encouraged to vote for your school board trustee, city councillor and mayor during the advance polls Oct. 6-11 or on election day. Information about who is running, where and when to vote can be found on the City of Calgary election website. 

Truth and Reconciliation Week 

Sept. 22 to 26 is CBE Truth and Reconciliation Week. This aligns with the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation activities. Schools and service units select one day within this week as their Orange Shirt Day. Staff, students and their families are encouraged to continue their education through the Orange Shirt Day event on Sept. 30.

Student Services Update 

• Student Services will be hosting a lunch event on Wednesday, October 1 in the gym: How to Apply for Post-Secondary. Any grade 12 students are welcome to attend.  
• SAIT will be at NTHS on Thursday, October 2 at lunch in the gym.
